Giggs Hails Ronaldo

RYAN Giggs believes Cristiano Ronaldo is better than any winger he has played with - and he can only get better.

The veteran has seen a few superstar wide men come and go in his time at Manchester United.

But he says the Portuguese superstar has already eclipsed Andrei Kanchelskis, Lee Sharpe and David Beckham.

"He's at the top," he said when asked where he ranks Ronaldo in the list of players he has featured with. "Because of his performances and his goalscoring record.

"And he can get better and better. He's only young but he's playing really well for us.

"His goalscoring form is brilliant for us. It's unbelievable for a midfielder to score that amount of goals. He just contributes to the team whether scoring or making goals."

With 16 goals, Ronaldo is already just one behind the record Premier League total for a midfielder, the mark he set last season.

Giggs is stunned his team-mate has already become what he believes is the best player in the world and is ready to pass on all his advice to bring on the 22-year-old.

Improvement

"I think he's willing to learn off other players and the coaches and management," he added. "The improvement he's had since he came from Sporting has been so quick. I don't think anyone thought he would be, in my view, the best player in the world at the moment.

"Players usually peak in their late 20s so it's encouraging he's playing so well.

"Your all round game can improve, no matter how good you are or how old you are so I think he can improve even more."

And team-mate Nemanja Vidic endorses Giggs' view.

"We are very strong with him in our side," he said.

Meanwhile, Irish firebrand Stephen Hunt believes United will underestimate Reading at their peril.

The Royals missed an FA Cup trip to Old Trafford after losing to Spurs in a third round replay on Tuesday.

But having drawn at the Theatre of Dreams on the opening day of the season, Steve Coppell's side are looking to go one better.

Target

"They won't take us lightly," insisted Hunt, a recent target for Sunderland boss Roy Keane.

"After the results last year and the draw up at their place in August we look forward to it.

"It is a tough game for us, but we are the home team and have to have a go."

Hunt admits Reading are finding life tougher in the top flight this term after going close to a Uefa Cup spot last term.

"Last year we had the privilege of enjoying ourselves, and that was a real bonus," said Hunt.

"It is up to the players to respond to the pressure, and you have to thrive on the pressure.

"We are good enough to stay up, for sure, but it is all about how we deal with the pressure."

Awww it's really nice of Giggsy to say that (i agree), Cristiano can keep learning alot from him as-long as hes at United.
